Happy Thanksgiving

Many (if not most) of you reading this post live in America. On this day we offer our thanks and appreciation for the bounty in our lives. For some, it’s a religious occasion. For others it’s all about eating turkey and watching parades or football. For me, it’s all of that.

I have much to be thankful for. A wonderful wife of 36 years. A happy family including children now aspiring to develop and lead their own adult lives. Over the years we have had wonderful family vacations. My wife and I overcame great obstacles just to get married and survive the threat that posed. In the end, through our own faith and determination that not only made our lives richer but ensured the happiness of others as well. There’s so much more we have to appreciate that I can’t detail it here.

Whatever your observance of this day may include, I hope it will bring much joy and happiness. Eat well if you can but not more than you should. Stay away from politics if possible; it likely won’t help the digestion or make for a happy occasion. Give thanks and appreciation in the way best suited to you.

  1. Beautiful post John. I think it’s wonderful that you have such a solid relationship with your wife, very commendable for 36 years lol. As you know I’m Canadian and we celebrate ours in October. I’m not much of a turkey lover, but I do enjoy NFL day every Thanksgiving. I hope yours was a beautiful day with loved ones. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Deb. We had a nice day with a single friend and her visitor over for dinner with the three of us (our adult son lives in town as well–but not with us anymore, thankfully!).
