To paraphrase the inestimable Bill Cosby, Republicans say the darndest things. This time it was Tennessee GOP State Senator Stacey Campfield who made the news, saying on his “Camp4u” “Thought of the day” blog,
“Democrats bragging about the number of mandatory sign ups for Obamacare is like Germans bragging about the number of manditory [sic] sign ups for “train rides” for Jews in the 40s.”
Wow, hardly requires a comment, does it? Stacey joins the club that includes Cliven Bundy (better off as slaves?), Mitt Romney (the 47%, “not concerned about the very poor,” likes “being able to fire people,” etc.), Todd Akin (“legitimate rape”), Richard Mourdock (about babies resulting from rape–“something God intended”), Louie Gohmert (almost anything he says) and the list goes on and on. Funny, if it weren’t so tragic.
